Tehran’s 12th FICTS names jury members

The 12th Tehran FICTS names jury members for feature competition section.

The 12th edition of the Tehran International FICTS has announces the list of jury members for its feature competition section.

The jury is comprised of filmmaker and screenwriter Fereydoun Jeyrani, cultural activist and managing director of Iranian Artists Forum Majid Rajabi-Memar, filmmaker and screenwriter Ali Roueentan, sports manager and producer Nasser Shafaq, film producer Jahangir Kosari, sports expert and head of Football Federation Youth Committee Akbar Mohammadi, as well as film producer Gholam-Reza Mousavi.

Secretary of the festival Seyyed-Mojtaba Alavi announced the names of the jurors to judge the feature competition section which will screen 19 titles from Iran, Sweden, South Africa, Spain, Brazil, India, Uruguay and Argentina.

‘Britt-Marie Was Here’ from Sweden, ‘Over the River’ from South Africa, ‘Heroes’ from Spain, ‘Ten Seconds to Victory’ from Brazil, ‘Sudani from Nigeria’ from India, as well as ‘Home Team’ co-produced by Uruguay, Brazil, and Argentina are the festival's foreign guests.

‘Takhti, the World Champion’ by Bahram Tavakkoli, ‘Tsunami’ by Milad Sadr-Ameli, ‘Cold Sweat’ by Soheil Beiraqi, ‘Knockout’ by Gholamreza Ramezani, ‘Douch’ by Amir Mashhadi-Abbas, ‘The Skier’ by Fereydoun Najafi, as well as ‘The Red Rectangle’ by Hassan and Hossein Seidkhani are among the Iranian titles in the lineup.

The 12th Tehran FICTS will screen a total of 116 titles from Iran and 21 titles from other countries in different sections.

Iran’s FICTS, as the exclusive representative of the FICTS Sports Federation, is considered to be the entry festival for the Milan world competition.

The FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) is the organizer of the event, which is the final phase of the World FICTS Challenge that runs in 16 countries, including Iran.

Founded in 1983, it is recognized by International Olympic Committee (IOC) for which it promotes values of sport through film and television. Some 116 countries are members of the FICTS.

The 12th Tehran FICTS will be held in collaboration with the National Olympic and Paralympics Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, IRIB and the Tehran Municipality in Tehran and on Qeshm Island in March 2020.
